Part 1

I can't quite believe I'm here I kept saying to myself. We had a plan, we wanted to get to barrier by the time Volbeat hit the stage!

We had a look around then headed to the main stage where we'd be spending the best part of the day. Jake. E. Lee's Dragon Cartel were on, thought I might as well watch them since I was there and needed to wait for my friend.

My friend arrived and we had another look around before making our way to the main stage where we wouldn't be moving till after Aerosmith (the headliner) had finished.
It was 12:50pm so only 6 hours till Alter Bridge. Buckcherry were on. I had listened to these before so knew a couple of songs but only one song got stuck in my head ''Crazy Bitch'', it was the last song of the set but what a song to finish on, the crowd were pumped and ready for the next artist.

Richie Sambora up next. Again I knew a few songs but more the Bon Jovi stuff. Needless to say I was very happy to hear my favourite Jovi song played ''Wanted Dead Or Alive''. I had my first proper singalong of the day. As Richie was singing I couldn't help but picture Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural singing it on the series in their beloved Impala.

I saw a slight opening in the crowd so I took my chance whilst

is was there and I managed to get on barrier! It was 3pm, 4 hours till Alter Bridge, I knew though I wasn't going to move I hung onto that barrier for dear life!

Joe Bonamassa followed. I'd heard a lot about him from recommendations, I'd seen a couple clips from his DVD's but never listened to his music as such. I was rather memorised by his guitar playing, being a guitar player myself I guess I can appreciate his skills more than some people. Halfway through his set I saw Alter Bridge's Brian Marshall and Black Stone Cherry's Chris Robertson watching Bonamassa from the sidelines. I kept looking back there every now and then and up popped Tremonti followed by Myles Kennedy. I almost screamed ''ahh Alter Bridge'' but proceeded to continue watching Joe. I had excitement butterflies as it had finally sunk in this day had finally arrived and it was all actually happening.

It's also cool seeing the amazing musicians like Mark Tremonti having idols too. I could see they like me were just mesmerised but Joe's guitar playing. It's often forgotten that band members are actually human, they do everything like us... except they have cool jobs!

Bonamassa went on stage and made way for Volbeat...
